When it is time to start planning a wedding, we usually have a budget.  When you have a tight budget and have to cut a few corners, where do you start?  Well to begin with you can look for discount wedding invitations.  All it takes is some time and patience, and a computer and phone. (and perhaps some creativity!)

There are many different ways to save money on the invite.  Maybe you are creative and can make your own!  Obtaining ideas from stores, websites, magazines is a frugal way of keeping your costs down.  Creating your own is a fantastic way to keep involved with the preparations, as well as being able to bring out your creative side and save some money that can be put towards something else.  Your costs will be lower depending on the type of paper that you choose, and how you are going to put the writing on the invitations.  Will you use a computer at home or a friends house?  Do you have beautiful handwriting or calligraphy skills that you would like to put to use?  Will you get them printed at the printers?  What about attaching a picture to the invitation?  If you are the crafty type, you will come up with many different ideas for design and arrangement.

However, what if you are not inventive or creative?  Or what if you just simply don't have the time to make the invitations yourself?  There are many specialized websites and stores which offer discount wedding invitations, it is just a matter of doing a thorough search.  Make sure to check in magazines, and with friends, family, and co-workers as well for some cost saving ideas.  Maybe someone is going out of business and is offering a sale.  Another way that you may be able to cut costs,  is if you order them early, or have a certain number, the company may give a reduction on the price.

Although discount wedding invitations may seem  to be cutting corners in the wrong places, with time, research, ingenuity, and a little imagination, you should be able to come up with some amazing invitations that will attract attention, and ones that your guests will keep up on their mantlepiece for time to come!
